Organizations

Society for Photographic Education (SPE), a nonprofit membership organization comprising fine art photographers, artists, educators, students, curators, critics, and historians. Headquartered in Cleveland, OH, with archives held at the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, AZ, SPE promotes the understanding, practice, teaching, and critical study of photography in all its forms, with growing initiatives in K–12 education, community outreach, and international engagement.

Galveston Art League, founded in 1914, the Galveston Art League is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering art appreciation and practice in the Galveston community, supporting local and state artists, and holding public exhibitions. Since 2004, the League has operated a gallery on Postoffice Street in downtown Galveston, hosting nine member exhibits and three juried exhibits annually.
